Ant Man

They say
believe
do not question
and all will be revealed

But man is a child
and ever more shall be so
he preaches blind faith
but opens one eye to look.
His doubts
lead him to proofs
proofs to discoveries
discoveries to more
and he climbs and climbs
ever higher
onward and upward
into the unknown

Clouds part
to reveal more clouds
and worlds open
to universes
to suns and quasars
and the ant man
dreaming giant dreams
taking giant steps
discovering more
infinitesimally
finding infinity
the only sure thing

Perhaps he should have faith
and within a little circle
find contentment.
But within a little circle
what contentment?

The Maker

Man
the Maker
created god
to gain
immortality.

He propounded
the soul
to rationalise
death
and reject
the natural processes

then set out to discover
the secret of life.

Daily
in his factories
he produces
new parts
for old

in his laboratories
vaccines and
serums for
regeneration

he searches
methodically
scientifically
calmly

repressing
the primal scream
that acknowledges

annihilation.

Compost

God
if there be
certainly isn’t she

now that I know
that me
no
pause
unplugs life
support systems
to watch
matter decaying

whither
my soul?

dig a trench
drop in the pod
cover with sod
return her
to primary function

Creation

the human creature
incarcerated
in chaotic collusion
of light and dark
in paradoxical denial
dichotomised
its weakness called God
its power, Satan
interrogates
the accident of existence
and contrives
a meaning for life
